Ultra Running is hot. Marathons are not long enough anymore. The same goes for bike races. A ‘hundred’ is no longer enough.
The 2400 km Pan Celtic Race sold out quickly. You can now race from Italy to the very northernmost tip of the European land mass, a ride of 4000 km’s. The Trans-Contiental is between 3200 and 4200 kms and the RAAM is the daddy of them all at 5000 kms. There are now ultra-races to suit anyone with the desire to suffer.
